Snowmobile Trail Impact Questionnaire
(Tornak Hut and Coyote Yurts)

Beginning in the winter of 2024/25, the Sawtooth Snowmobile Club will mark and maintain a new motorized corridor from the end of the groomed trail at Fox Peak going west through the "Burn Unit" ski zone and accessing the Osberg Ridge. For the past 25 years, the East Fork of Baker Creek has been designated as road only motorized use in the winter to the end of the grooming at Fox Peak, as per the Winter Recreation Coalition established in 2000 (map here). This new corridor is intended to be a motorized "through-way" to access the Osberg Ridge and not a "play area" with the intent of minimizing impacts on hut skiers.  The route will be marked as a trail (maximum of 100' wide). This form is intended to track the impact of this new motorized corridor on the non-motorized users of this area, specifically the hut users at Tornak and Coyote. Please take a moment to report your experience with this new motorized corridor. Your perspective and experience will help us shape the future to create a beneficial experience for all.  Thank You!
