PROHIBITIONS
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(a), the following acts are prohibited within the areas described in this order, with in the administrative boundaries of the Ketchum Ranger District and Sawtooth National Recreation Area, Sawtooth National Forest. This order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect until further notice.
1. Possessing or using any motorized over snow vehicle within the Hyndman Basin Area during the period of December 1 through March 15. Title 36 CFR 261.56.
2. Possessing or using any motorized over snow vehicle within the Upper Big Wood River Area, North Fork/Trail Creek Area, and/or Boulder Flats Area during the period of December 1 through May 1. Title 36 CFR 261.56.
EXEMPTIONS
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:
1. Persons with a permit specifically exempting them from the prohibitions listed in this Order.
2. Any Federal, State, or local law enforcement office, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
3. Federal or State administrative personnel in the performance of an official duty.

Hyndman Basin Area
Upper Big Wood River Area
North Fork/Trail Creek Area
Boulder Flats Area
PURPOSE
The AREAS are closed to motorized over snow vehicle travel for the purpose of providing a variety of quality winter recreation opportunities, and so that Forest users are not in conflict with each other, or losing the opportunities important to them, as per the Forest Land Management Plan.
IMPLEMENTATION
1. This Order will be in effect when singed.
2. Any violation of this order is punishable by fine of not more than $5000 and/or imprisonment for not more than six months [Title 16 USC 551, Title 18 USC 3571(b)(6), Tile 18 USC 3581(b)(7), and/or appropriate State laws].
3. This Order superseded “area use opportunities/restrictions” specified in the 1998 Sawtooth National Forest Visitor/Travel Map for the northern part of the Sawtooth National Forest for the specific areas described in this Order (and any previous errata sheets to that map for the specific areas described in this Order).
4.
